Be a Tester

WE NEED TESTERS!

BE A PART of helping to develop THE ULTIMATE MUSIC LIBRARY DATA MANAGEMENT Application.

We need people who have some experience with music libraries, particularly those who have been frustrated by finding out information about what’s in your library, to help us test LIDA and to give us suggestions for how to make it better.

REQUIREMENTS:

The first requirement is that you be WILLING TO COMMUNICATE. In other words, stay in touch. This will be mostly by email, but we have also added a discussion forum to this website. You need to let the developer, and probably the rest of the team as well, know what you’ve found, what are your thoughts, what are your suggestions. In other words, don’t be a lurker.

LIDA will only run on Windows machines, or on Mac computers running a Windows emulator. It would be helpful to have some experience with a music library, but this is not essential. You DO NOT need to have any particular computer skills. If you can read, click, and type, that’s probably enough.

WHAT YOU GET: If you are selected to be a LIDA Tester, we will provide you, at no charge, a Beta Tester login to this site. Once you log in with beta tester credentials, you will see, under the HOME menu item, a “Beta Testers Only” menu item to a page where you can download a full copy of LIDA in an installation package, which will include a runtime version of 32-bit Access. If you already have 32-bit Microsoft Access on your system, you will not need to install the runtime version, and can ignore it in the install process. If you have 64-bit Access, you will need to install the 32-bit runtime. (We found this out through experience.) Also, part of your download will include a PDF of installation instructions.

In return, you agree to give LIDA a full, good workout, and to report all your findings and suggestions back to us, so we can make LIDA the absolute best it can be.

We expect to begin Beta testing in early 2020.
